About Us

FYB Information

The Basics:

Our goal is that first and foremost FYB should be a teaching program - where every player improves during the course of our season, in their mastering of skills, ability and confidence.

Our founding principles:

  • Bettering our community, providing opportunities to serve and give back
  • Fostering an environment that supports strong character growth for our kids
  • Developing talents and skills that build confidence in sports and life
  • Providing the highest level of competition possible
  • Commitment to the program for a safe, fun and rewarding experience

Highlights:

  • Practices and Games will be at various gyms in the South Bay and Peninsula. Practice schedules will be communicated when the player is assigned to a team.
  • Single Division of play for each gender-grade group (e.g., Boys 7th and 8th, Girls 3rd and 4th)
  • All players participate in Division, no separate leagues such as All-Net
  • Minimum ability standards are one of the criteria for player selection in the boys divisions
  • All players taught higher standard of skills to aid development
  • Stronger coaching for all players
  • Pre-season clinics led by professional coaches
  • Volunteer coaches with previous coaching experience
  • Grade appropriate skills teaching for all players will be practiced
  • Evaluations to form balanced teams
  • Regular season of 8 Sunday games, followed by an end of season tournament
  • The 2025-2026 Season will run from October 13 through February 1
  • Grade level appropriate rules, include both equal participation and competitive periods
  • Greater consistency in game locations and time slots, early schedule release
  • Boys will likely play all internal schedule against other Foothill teams
  • Girls will play a mixed schedule against both FYB teams and other Girls teams in the area

Expanded All Star Program for Advanced Players

  • Goal is to create All-star program with more teams and players
  • Earlier team formation, more practices, more advanced skills and training
  • Multiple tournaments to allow teams more opportunities to play together
